April 7 Shane Barretto, 26, of Franklin, was sentenced to four years in state prison, six-month loss of driver’s license and $1,205 in fines. Barretto pleaded guilty on March 22 to possession of heroin. He was found to be in possession of four bags of heroin in Vernon following an arrest for an outstanding warrant by Sgt. Michael Bums. Georgine DiBenedetto, 48, of Franklin, was sentenced to two years probation, $1,205 in fines, six-month loss of driver’s license and outpatient substance abuse evaluation and treatment. Di Benedetto pleaded guilty on Jan. 23 to possession of heroin and methadone. She was stopped for speeding and arrested for driving while intoxicated. Officer N. Mattessioh of the Franklin Police Dept. found her to be in possession of two bags of heroin and a bottle of liquid methadone. Matthew Bouma, 23, of Montague, was sentenced to three years probation, 270 days in county jail, $1,205 in fines, six-month loss of driver’s license and a substance abuse evaluation and treatment. Bouma pleaded guilty on Feb. 27 to defrauding the administration of a drug test. He admitted to submitting a fake sample of urine for a drug test that was administered to him while he was on probation. The matter was investigated by the Sussex County Probation Dept. and Sussex County Sheriff’s Officer Kieran McMorrow. Patrick Williams, 46, of Newton, was sentenced to two years probation, $155 in fines and a substance abuse evaluation and treatment. He pleaded guilty on Feb. 27 to fourth-degree trespass. Williams entered an unoccupied apartment in Newton with a friend, without the permission of the apartment’s owner. Roseau Boyd, 31, of Hamburg, was sentenced to seven years in state prison, six-month loss of driver’s license and $2,505 in fines. He pleaded guilty on Feb. 6 to two counts of distribution of heroin and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Boyd admitted that on Dec. 6, 2005, he sold heroin to an undercover detective assigned to the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force, and that on Dec. 22, 2005, in Hamburg, he possessed 49 bags of heroin with the intent to distribute them. He did so in the presence of four children, who were with him in the motor vehicle he was occupying, in which he had secreted the heroin. Tracy Branch, 26, of Branchville, was sentenced to two years probation, six-month loss of driver’s license and $1,205 in fines. Branch pleaded guilty on Feb. 27 to prescription fraud. She admitted altering a prescription to reflect that it was to be refilled and presenting the altered prescription to a pharmacy in Hampton. The matter was investigated by N.J. State Trooper D. Grayson. April 10 William F. Clines, 38, of Hackettstown, pleaded guilty to offer of unlawful benefit to a public servant for official behavior, and to a motor vehicle offense of driving while intoxicated. During a motor vehicle stop on March 3 in Byram, Clines offered the police officer conducting the stop a $100 bill to let him go, asking if the money would help change the officer’s mind. Sentencing is anticipated for May 19. Rafal Rosolowski, 28, of Newton, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. He was convicted of assaulting two Sussex County sheriff’s officers as he left the Sussex County Superior Court on Jan. 27. Sentencing is anticipated for May 19. Frederick Michael, 26, of Newton, pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of less than one ounce of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school. He admitted that on Jan. 28 and Feb. 3 he sold small amounts of marijuana to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force while he was within 1,000 feet of the St. Joseph’s school. Michael is scheduled for sentencing on May 19. Joseph Kopko, 45, of Elmwood Park, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of heroin. He admitted to distributing 10 bags of heroin, which was discovered following a brief investigation by Byram Police Officer Daniel DeWald on Feb. 13. Kopko is scheduled for sentencing on May 19. Jamie Zaretskie, 25, of Denville, was sentenced to three years drug court probation, $2,380 in fines, six-month loss of driver’s license and 105 days credit for time served in the county jail. She pleaded guilty on Oct. 31 to possession of heroin, driving while suspended and leaving the scene of an accident. She also pleaded guilty on Feb. 7 to possession of heroin. On July 29, 2005, Zaretskie was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Vernon and found to be in possession of two bags of heroin. On Dec. 27, 2005, she was found to be in possession of heroin in Vernon after the police responded to her overdose. Jason Guadagno, 26, of Lafayette, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin. He admitted to possessing two bags of heroin after Newton police responded to a report of his overdose. He is scheduled for sentencing on May 1. April 13 James DiCataldo, 28, of Newton, pleaded guilty to theft by deception. Between Feb. 1, 2003, and Aug. 1, 2003, in Andover Borough, he and a co-defendant created a fictitious company within the company he was working for, purchasing parts in the name of the fictitious company but never receiving shipments of the products purchased. Sentencing is anticipated for June 9.
