May 15 Courtney McCarron, 26 ,of East Stroudsburg, Pa., was sentenced to two years probation, credit for one day in jail, 80 hours community service, and loss of driver’s license for six months. She pleaded guilty on March 20 to third-degree possession of heroin. On Feb. 13, Officer Daniel Dewald of Byram responded to the CVS in Byram on a report of people using drugs in the parking lot. When he arrived at this location, he approached a vehicle and observed a hypodermic syringe and several bags of heroin next to McCarron. May 19 Ronnie Mailloux, 31, of Bricktown, was sentenced to four years in N.J. State Prison. Mailloux pleaded guilty on April 3 to third-degree attempted burglary and attempted theft, and fourth-degree providing false information to law enforcement. On Oct. 6, 2005, Mailloux attempted to break into Rich’s Deli in Hardyston. In doing so, he activated a silent burglar alarm. When the police responded, Mailloux was lying in heavy brush about 100 yards from the deli. He lied to the police, giving them a false name and claiming he was lying in the brush because he was homeless. Subsequent investigation revealed that he was involved with the attempted break-in of the deli. May 19, 2006 Stephen Killen, 25, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to two years probation, 30 days county jail, $1,205 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. Killen pleaded guilty on April 3 to third-degree possession of cocaine. He possessed a small amount of cocaine in his home on May 8, following an investigation by Hopatcong Police Officers Ryan Tracey and Megan McCluskey. Jospeh Kopko, 45, of Elmwood Park, was sentenced to two years probation, three days county jail, $1,205 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. Kopko pleaded guilty on April 10 to third-degree distribution of heroin. He distributed 10 bags of heroin, which was discovered following a brief investigation by Bryam Police Officer Daniel DeWald on February 13. Quentin Nicolai, 33, of Vernon, was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 42 months of parole ineligibility, $3,705 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. Nicolai pleaded guilty on April 3 to operating a premises used for manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, a first-degree crime, two counts of third-degree theft, one count of fourth-degree theft, one count of third-degree burglary and a violation of probation. He admitted to producing methamphetamine on several occasions at his home in Vernon. He also admitted to stealing property from the Mohawk House in Sparta while it was under construction, stealing movable property belonging to Polizzi Builders in Hardyston on August 16, 2004, and movable property belonging to Beazer Homes in Hardyston on April 1, 2005. William Clines, 39, of Hackettstown, was sentenced to two years probation, 180 days county jail, $1,519 in fines and a 10-year loss of driver’s license. Clines pleaded guilty on April 10 to offering an unlawful benefit to a public servant, a fourth-degree crime, and to driving while intoxicated. During a motor vehicle stop on March 3 by Byram Police Officer Thomas Dellicker, Clines offered the officer a $100 bill to let him go. The defendant was driving while intoxicated and his blood alcohol level was .16. Frederick Michael, 26, of Newton, was sentenced to two years probation, 180 days county jail, $2,380 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. He pleaded guilty on April 10 to two counts of third-degree distribution of less than one ounce of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school. On Jan. 28, 2005, and Feb. 3, 2005, he sold small amounts of marijuana to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force while he was within 1,000 feel of St. Joseph’s School. Dawn Vahaly, 27, of Vernon, was sentenced to three years probation, 364 days county jail, $1,630 in fines and a seven-month loss of driver’s license. Vahaly pleaded guilty on April 3 to third-degree possession of heroin and driving while intoxicated. She possessed four bags of heroin on Dec. 24, 2005, in Vernon following a motor vehicle stop by Officer Carrell, and had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of oxycodone. May 22 Robert Thomas, 26, of Byram, pleaded guilty to third-degree possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, and third-degree possession with the intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms. He was found to be in possession of a half pound of bulk marijuana and more than one ounce of psilocybin mushrooms following the execution of a search warrant at his home by members of the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force, Byram Police Department and the Sussex County Sheriffs Office. Thomas is scheduled to be sentenced on July 7. James Ulichny, 44, of Newton, pleaded guilty to third-degree possession of heroin and driving while intoxicated. He admitted to possessing three bags of heroin and driving while under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 29, 2005, in Byram. The matter was investigated by Byram Police Officer Daniel DeWald. Ulichny is scheduled for sentencing on July 7. Jimmie Simmons, 21, of Warwick, N.Y., pleaded guilty to third-degree possession of cocaine. He admitted to possessing a small bag of cocaine in Yemen on March 5. Simmons is scheduled to be sentenced on July 7.
