Deacon Homes wins new construction/renovation awards

Deacon Homes, a new home and commercial builder based in Sparta, has been honored by the Community Builders & Remodelers Association of New Jersey (CBRA) with two awards of excellence for the Franklin Mutual Insurance Company (FMI) in Branchville. The firm received the coveted Best New Construction of a Commercial Office Building and Best Commercial Renovation over $1 Million for its unique, three phase approach to retaining the historic significance of the building, while updating and modernizing the facility for its 100 employees. Highlights included a new stone exterior to harmonize with the historic downtown Branchville streetscape; modernized mechanicals and HVAC systems for energy efficiency; updated information technology for enhanced operations; and a redesign of interiors and workspace for better accessibility, employee comfort and efficiency.
