Newton - A “Divorce Smarts” support group for separated and divorced professionals will met from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for six consecutive Sundays beginning April 23 at the Caines Center for Psychotherapy, 936 Potters Rd., Newton. Claire Caines, a licensed clinical social worker and director of Caines Center, will facilitate the group. Tom Caines, a life coach and group leader with divorce mediation experience, will co-facilitate. Together, Tom and Claire Caines have led “Divorce Smarts,” “Divorce Talk,” and “Suddenly Single” groups, as well as provided divorce mediation services. “Divorce Smarts is helpful because people receive mutual support, hear practical suggestions on how to deal with life issues and focus on their future,” said Claire Caines, who has been leading similar groups in the area since 1996. She added that the group is held in a “safe, supportive atmosphere.” A resource packet will be given to each participant, containing useful information for those going through this difficult life transition. For information, call 973-300-0428. Early registration is recommended, as space is limited.
