    Mammograms save lives Milford, Pa. - Newton Memorial Hospital will host the “Mammograms Save Lives” program from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Milford Health and Wellness Center, 111 East Catharine St., Milford Pa. Breast health exams and education will be offered free to women 40 years and older living in Sussex County, N.J., or Pike County, Pa. The hospital, through the Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation, offers free mammograms to women who are either without insurance or who do not qualify for the NJ CEED Program. This screening is arranged through the Pike County Health Fund. Appointments are required. Eligibility for a free mammogram will be determined by your physician or by calling Newton Memorial Hospital. For information, call 973-579-8340. n Look good, feel better sparta - The free “Look Good Feel Better” program will teach participants how to maintain their appearance while undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy treatment, including makeup, scarf and wigs. The program will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, at the Sparta Health and Wellness Center, 89 Sparta Ave., Sparta. The program, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is non-medical and will not interfere with medical treatments, make any medical or physical claims, or replace medical services in any way. It is also product neutral and does not endorse any brand, product or salon. The certified cosmetologists are volunteers who participate without compensation.
