Fall celebration to raise research funds for research foundation
Sparta Lake Mohawk Gourmet Foods will celebrate its first anniversary with a festival of fall harvest food and family fun from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 29 West Shore Trail. Children can decorate their own caramel apple and help build a scarecrow. Bring an old boot, hat, shirt or anything a scarecrow might wear so he will be ready for Halloween. The first 20 children will also receive a free pumpkin. Spiced apple cider, pumpkin muffins, roasted chicken, pulled pork sandwiches and pumpkin bars will all be provided as refreshments. Reservations are recommended for either breakfast or lunch on this date and take-out is also available. Twenty percent of the day's proceeds will be donated to the IES Brain Research Foundation, whose mission is to advance research for the treatment of brain diseases such as pain, addiction, Alzheimer’s, autism and schizophrenia.
