Sparta-Looking for an occasional evening out with your spouse? Want an activity you can share with your children? With the theme of "Let Us Entertain You," the fall bowling programs at Sparta Lanes could be just what you need. Skill is not required, just the desire to relax and enjoy a friendly, social atmosphere … and maybe earn a free bowling ball. Two great opportunities for parents and children to bowl together are the Super Bowlin' Family League and the Pick Your Premium League. In these Sunday programs, which are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. respectively, the children can earn a free bowling ball, a gift certificate to the mall, or other great merchandise. Both leagues begin on Sept. 12. Kids up to age 17 will receive a $25 gift certificate to Rockaway Mall when they participate in the Junior Handicap Singles League. This friendly, competitive program takes place on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 14. For smaller children, the Friday Bumper Leagues provide an opportunity to have some fun with their friends. In Bumpers One, kids age 3-5 bowl one game. Youngsters over age 5 can bowl two games in Bumpers Two. These begin on Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m. If the prospect of an exciting date with your spouse sounds appealing, the Sparta Lanes Couples League is where you should be on the second Saturday of each month. This adults-only league begins aat 7 p.m. on Oct. 9, with two couples per team. Free babysitting is available. For the casual bowler, the Social Club offers an evening of fun and relaxation every other Saturday. Beginning Sept. 11, for just eight sessions, teams of three will come out to enjoy non-competitive bowling -- regardless of their skill level.
