Flu and pneumococcal vaccine clinics to begin Oct. 21
Newton Clinics to administer flu and pneumococcal vaccines are about to begin in Sussex County. Vaccines are available to residents who live in municipalities served by the Sussex County Division of Health, including Andover Borough, Andover Township, Branchville, Byram, Frankford, Franklin, Fredon, Green, Hamburg, Hampton , Lafayette, Montague, Newton, Sandyston, Stillwater, Sussex, Walpack, and Wantage. Those 65 years and older will not be charged if they bring a Medicare card. For those under 65, the fee is $15 for a flu shot and $30 for a pneumococcal vaccine. The schedule of clinics is as follows: Oct. 21 Sussex County Health Center, 129 Morris Turnpike (Route 655), 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 25 Andover Senior Center, Park Building, Tranquility Road (Route 517) 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 1 Franklin Senior Center, 15 Cork Hill Road 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 13 Sandyston Municipal Building, 122 Route 560, 3 to 6 p.m. The clinics are sponsored by the Public Health Nursing division of the Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services.
