Forum to look at perils of federal deficit
Sussex County - Ed Lorenzen, policy director of the Concord Coalition, will speak at a forum from 10 a.m. to noon on March 24 at the Senator Littell Center located on 12 Munsonhurst Road in Franklin on the perils of the growing federal budget deficit:, why fiscal responsibility is important and where do Americans go from here, as Congress votes to expand the national debt limit above $8 trillion dollars. The coalition was developed by a group of Republican and Democratic former U.S. Senators, including Democrat Bob Kerry and Republican Warren Rudmann along with other experts, including former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board Paul Volcker and Peter Peterson, a former Secretary of Commerce, and author of last year’s best seller “Running on Empty: How the Republican and Democratic Parties are bankrupting America.” Those interested in attending the forum are asked to RSVP through the Sussex County One Stop Career Center and its Administrator Bill Weightman either calling 973-209-1217 or E-mailing William.Weightman@dol.state.nj.us.
