Four charged with selling heroin

    Four individuals were arrested for a variety of conspiracy and distribution of heroin charges in Newton and Fredon Township by the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force on Sept. 6. The offenses occurred between Aug. 4 and 30, according to a press release issued by the County Prosecutor's office. The task force seized or purchased 2,914 bags of heroin during the course of the three-week investigation. The Narcotics Task Force was assisted by members of the Newton Police Department, Sussex County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Parole of the Department of Corrections. Marquis Jackson, 24, of Paterson, formerly of Newton, was charged with two counts of third-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin, one count of third-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin on the property of Newton High School, one count of second-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin and one count of second-degree distribution of heroin within 500 fee of Lodestar Park in Fredon Township. His bail as set at $80,000. Robert Jackson, 23, of Paterson, formerly of Newton, was charged with three counts of third-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin, one count of third-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin on the property of Newton High School, one count of second-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin within 500 fee of Lodestar Park, second-degree distribution of one half ounce or more of heroin, second-degree possession with the intent to distribute heroin within 500 feet of Heritage park in Newton and fourth-degree resisting arrest. His bails were set at $210,000. Aimee Goritski, 24, of Newton, was charged with two counts of third-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin, two counts of third-degree distribution of heroin, one count of third-degree distribution of heroin on the property of Newton High School and second-degree distribution of heroin within 500 feet of Heritage Park. Her bail was set at $75,000. Roel Keith, 26, of Prospect Park, was charged with three counts of third-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin, one count of third-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin on property of Newton High School, two counts of third-degree distribution of heroin, one count of second-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin within 500 feet of Lodestar Park and one count of second-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin. His bails were set at $200,000. The prosecutor's office notes: The charges are merely accusations and the four are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
