SUSSEX COUNTY — The Girl Scouts Lenni-Lenape Council will be participating in this year's Sussex County Community College's Fall Festival, to be held at the school's Newton campus from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. Their activity table will be staffed with both employees and volunteers, ready to answer questions and spread the good word of scouting. There will be activities for children, and an opportunity for adults to learn about the programs. The Girl Scouts organization is dedicated solely to girls, all girls, everywhere, throughout the world. Their programs, reflecting the ever-changing needs and interests of today's girls, include sports skill-building clinics, career mentoring, world travel and cultural exchanges, local community service projects, environmental education, and financial literacy. The hope is that through their experiences, the girls will grow courageous and strong. The Lenni-Lenape Council serves 12,000 girls in 61 municipalities in Passaic, Sussex, Bergen, Morris, and Warren counties. There are four program levels, designed to meet the specific needs of girls in each age level: Daisy Scouts (kindergarten), Brownie Scouts (Grades 1-3), Junior Scouts (Grades 4-5), and Girl Scouts (Grades 6-12).
