‘Haunted hayride' raises more than $200 for charities

    NEWTON - The Student Government Association of Sussex County Community College hosted their annual haunted hayride Oct. 28. The free event was open to the public, and over 300 people enjoyed an evening of pre-Halloween festivities. Over $200 in donations were accepted on behalf of the Byram Animal Rescue and Kindness Squad and the Children’s Miracle Network. The Student Government Association expressed thanks to supporters of the event, including Barbara Bayles, Chatterbox Drive-In, the Holland American Bakery, Home Depot, Ideal Farm and Garden Center, Katterman Farms, Kuperus Farmside Gardens, Lafayette House, Stop & Shop of Sparta, Sussex County Strawberry Farm, and Sussex County Medical Associates.
