Hilltop Day School to offer free children's art workshop

Sparta As part of the 29th Annual Art Exhibition and Sale, Hilltop Country Day School will hold a complimentary art workshop for children 5 to 10 years of age from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14. The workshop will consist of a child-geared gallery tour given by art/art Appreciation teacher Marcia Shenton and art/art appreciation assistant teacher SuzAnne Pacala. The tour will be followed by an art class in which children may create their own painting, inspired by what they have seen and learned during the tour. Refreshments for parents and participants will complete the workshop. “The Annual Hilltop Art Exhibition and Sale provides a wonderful opportunity for children to sense the excitement that is art,” said Shenton, “The show has such a wide variety of media, technique and style that there is sure to be a favorite piece for each child to appreciate.” “We look forward to sharing our enthusiasm and love of art with each budding artist. It will be fun to help them create their own masterpiece to remember this unique experience,” Pacala added. Registration for the workshop is required and participation is limited in order to offer each child the best possible experience.
