Sparta - Hilltop Country Day School in Sparta is gearing up for its first technology camp, to run June 19 through June 30. The camp will be divided into two week-long sections, explained Regina Cherill, Hilltop’s computer coordinator. “The first week will be geared towards students with a love for photography,” said Cherill. “Digital arts week will be a chance for them to explore a variety of software to enhance their photography. This is a hands-on experience - it’s meant to be fun.” Projects students will work on include creating T-shirts, humorous photo touch-ups and even creating comic books. The second week of camp will be an exploration of multimedia and animation. Students will discover the secrets of movie-making as they create digitized flip-books and short films made from still photos. Campers will also learn to create their own video games. Hilltop’s technology camp is open to children in grades three through eight. The camp will run daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost per week is $195 and includes lunch. Limited space is available as a one-to-one camper to computer ratio is desired. For information or to register, call 973-729-5485 or send e-mail to ltsemberlis@hilltopcds.org.
