Sparta This year marks the ninth year that students at Hilltop Country Day School in Sparta have collected gifts for Project Self-Sufficiency to distribute to their clients. Organized by the preschool, this event is under the direction of preschool teacher, Chris DeStefano, and the student council, advised by science teacher, Michael Umstead, and social studies teacher, Robin Kaminsky. This school-wide project helps children to understand that they really can make a difference in the lives of others. This year’s collection resulted in hundreds of items, including computer games and software, board games, infant and toddler clothing, and even included the supplies for the gifts to be wrapped.
