Sparta - This year Hilltop Country Day School in Sparta decided to take a closer look at the school’s mission and look at possible ways to provide support outside of the classroom to the families and students at the school. As a result, beginning with this school year, Hilltop has initiated the “Homework Help” program. From 3:10 p.m. to 4 p.m., students work with Hilltop teachers in small groups to complete daily homework assignments and begin and progress through long-term projects. The time is also used for daily/outside class reading requirements. Additionally, students have access to classroom computers and libraries to research topics for their long-term projects. Cost for the program is $6 per session. School officials say the response to the new after-school program has been “very positive with both students and parents.”
