Newton — The Auxiliary of Newton Memorial Hospital presented scholarships of $1,500 each to three students pursuing nursing and health related careers. Scholarship packets had been distributed throughout Sussex County, and of the many applications received, the three scholarship winners showed impressive scholastics and community service records. The three recipients were: Shannon Laux, a graduate from High Point Regional, who will attend Sussex County Community College for a career in nursing; Kyle Wilson, a graduate from Newton High School, who will attend Clemson University for a career in nursing; and Daniel Banki, a graduate from Wallkill Valley Regional High School, who will attend Quinnipiac University for a health-related career. In the fall new applications will be distributed for the year 2006.
