Jazz Elite are holding auditions

    Jazz Elite, a music program that includes young, advanced-level musicians from the Tri- State area, will be holding auditions for its 2011-2012 program. Rehearsals take place between September and June, one to two times a week: Sundays from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. As part of the annual tuition program, students attend sectional rehearsals with Jazz Elite’s College Mentors. In addition, jazz clinics are taught by famous music professionals throughout the year, and private lessons are available. Students also perform in various competitions throughout the year. On Sunday, Oct. 2 from 12 to 4 p.m auditions will be held for: Jr. Jazz Elite Program, for students in grades 6 to 8, (exceptional fourth and fifth graders will also be considered) Jazz Elite Program, for students in grades 9 to 12, (exceptional seventh and eighth graders will also be considered). College students can audition as part of the program’s new Conglomerate College Division. Those interested in auditioning need to register online beforehand at www.jazzelite.org. A $35 registration fee is required; can be paid online or at auditions. Auditions will be held at Theodore D.
