Job fair deemed a success
Franklin - With more than 40 companies, including Newton Memorial Hospital, the new Skyhawks baseball team, Aspen Environmental, Joule Staffing, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, some 200 job seekers at the recent job fair at the Ltttell Center had ample opportunities to find a new job and/or start a career. Staff from the two One Stop offices of the N.J. Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development greeted both job seekers and business customers at the event. Surveys handed out to employers indicated high satisfaction with their flow of the customers, food and beverages served, and the customer-driven nature of the staff and their partners from the “Workforce #55 Program” that utilizes the skills of older workers to provide meaningful services. Bill Weightman, administrator, termed the event a success and announced that a fall job fair is now being planned for Oct. 12 at the Littell Center.
