Junior Woman's club hosts Safety Village' June 19-22
SPARTA - The Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta will host “Safety Village 2006” from June 19 through June 22 for children entering a Sparta kindergarten this fall. Now in its 18th year, this award-winning, comprehensive and fun safety education program will be held at the Helen Morgan School, located at 100 Stanhope Rd. in Sparta. The fee is $45 per child. The program is staffed by club members with special assistance from the Sussex County Red Cross, Sparta police, fire and ambulance departments, and other community volunteers. The children will learn about the many aspects of safety through fun and entertaining presentations, games, and projects. The program covers animal, playground, bike and helmet, pedestrian, traffic, electrical, poison, personal, bullying and “stranger,” school bus, fire, police, ambulance, water, health, and telephone safety.
