Kopco named associate at Laddey, Clark and Ryan law firm

    Sparta - Jeffrey A. Kopco, Esq., has joined the law firm of Laddey, Clark and Ryan, LLP, as an associate in the firm’s labor and employment practice group. He was recently admitted to the state bar in N. J., and to the bar of the U.S. District Court in N.J. Kopco will also be admitted to the bar in N.Y. state. His practice will focus on labor and employment and general litigation. As an attorney in the labor and employment practice group at the firm, Kopco will assist in the handling of employment matters for public, and private sector employees. The group represents employers, as well as individuals, in wrongful termination and employment discrimination cases and in the negotiation of employment and severance agreements. It also assists management in complying with state and federal employment laws, and counsels on hiring, termination, employee handbooks, pre-employment interviews and restrictive covenants. Kopco has been a law clerk with the firm for 19 months. During that time, he has assisted in the representation and trial on behalf of a client who was sexually harassed by a co-worker. He has also assisted in the development of personnel policy manuals for various public and private sector employers. He has worked with clients injured in automobile accidents, as well as individuals hurt on the job. Kopco is currently involved in the representation of a woman who was fired for notifying the state about her employer’s illegal activities. Kopco graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University and earned his juris doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law. He and his wife, Sara (nee Steinberg), a former Sparta resident, and their son are in the process of relocating to Sparta.
