Letters for soldiers wanted
VERNON - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Vernon is now collecting letters and cards for their latest “Letters For Soldiers” effort, a Halloween-theme mailing to members of the United States Armed Forces serving overseas in Iraq. “As we’ve seen in the past, our Letters For Soldiers’ mailings with holiday themes particularly inspire children to participate. They’re very creative with their cards and letters, and at the same time, they know their correspondence will be very special to someone,” said Theresa Stellingwerf, manager of the Vernon office. “It’s a lesson that applies to all of us, as these letters represent a little bit of home for so many of these men and women.” The office requests that letters and cards for the Halloween mailing be addressed “Dear Soldier” and that accompanying envelopes be left unsealed. They should be dropped off at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Vernon, located at 546 Route 515 (next to Bank of New York) by Oct. 12 to ensure timely delivery. Because many of the soldiers wish to write back, please remember to add your return address to your letter or card.
