5K run to fight brain disease in September

NEWTON — IES Brain Research Foundation will hold this year's Endorphin 5K to Fight Brain Disease at a new location, Kittatinny Valley State Park in Newton, NJ on Saturday September 22. At this new location, in addition to the bib chip timed 5K trail run, there will be a 1 mile run or walk (not timed), music courtesy of DJ Arian, food from Augie's Brooklyn Bagels & Deli, vendor tables, activities including face painting, free massage and more. In addition to top 3 fastest 5k male and female prizes and medals, there will be 5k finisher medals for all who finish the 5k , team prizes (teams must be 5 or more 5k and/or 1 mile runners and/or walkers) and door prizes (5k and 1 mile registrants who stay are eligible). Runners and walkers who register by Aug. 31 are guaranteed a t-shirt and goody bag (after that, while supply lasts). Runners and Walkers who raise $100 or more in pledges by Sept. 20 can have their race fee refunded and run for free.
All proceeds from this event go to IES Brain Research Foundation's Summer Fellowship Program. As of this summer, this volunteer run charity, will have given 101 summer fellowships to bright, motivated students to be trained in a top notch US neuroscience lab for the summer, doing brain research on diseases such as: ALS, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, brain cancer, PTSD, autism, addiction, MS, stoke, etc.
