All that jazz, and all that yoga

- Yoga Youniverse will celebrate the New Year on January 13 with its 4th Annual Yoga Jazz Journey. This unique class will start at 4 pm and be accompanied by live music from renowned musicians: saxophonist Don Braden, drummer Karl Latham and pianist Oscar Perez.
The 75-mintue class is open to all levels including beginners and admission is $25 per person. Those who opt out of yoga are invited to take a seat in the studio and enjoy the smooth sounds of Don Braden’s trio.
Award-winning Braden is a composer and has recorded 19 jazz albums as a leader and over 80 as a sideman. Dorota Elliington, owner of Yoga Youniverse, is also a teacher of literature as well as yoga. The two friends have collaborated on many cultural events over the years where the arts and music intertwine.
“We invite people and practitioners of all experience levels on a soul soothing journey of mind and body rejuvenation," Ellington said. "With the glowing blue lights, the beautiful live music performed by magnificent Don Braden and Sparta percussionist Karl Latham, and talented keyboardist Oscar Perez, yogis will be transported into a state of pure bliss.”
The celebration will continue with a reception of light snacks and drinks.
Ellington said that participants will experience an excellent workout and meditation that will usher in 2018 in a healthy way.
“Come flow to the rhythms of incredible jazz music while cleansing, restoring and rejuvenating your mind, mind and spirit for the 2018 New Year,” she said.
