Backpack Party wraps up summer at Tilly's Kids

SUSSEX COUNTY — Pass It Along wrapped up its Tilly’s Kids summer program recently with a Backpack Party, where the children received a backpack full of fun items for the upcoming school year.
Over the past two months, over 30 children have traveled to Sussex Country from inner-city areas to enjoy a summer of nature and fun. The Tilly’s Kids programs is designed to give one-on-one attention to at-risk inner city youth who live below the poverty line.
Pass It Along teens were teamed up as buddies with the children, and enjoyed activities such as swimming, arts and crafts and more! The program builds self-resiliency skills and promotes positive self-esteem.
Backpacks were donated to Pass It Along from members of the community, including Selective Insurance. The Tilly’s Kids program is a highlight of the summer for Pass It Along.
