Breaking the stigma of addiction

    — Sussex County Community College, 1 College Hill Road, Newton, NJ will present “Breaking the Stigma of Addiction” through the efforts of a local young college student in recovery. This special event, open to the public, is being held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 and will be held in the D Building Student Theater Center on the college campus at 6:00pm. Speakers will include young people and others from the community who want to help raise awareness of the hope and promise of recovery. Local recovery support resources will be available and everyone is welcome to attend.
    Pizza will be served thanks to Dominick’s, Villa Capri and Authentic of Newton. Weis Markets and Shop Rite of Newton provided additional refreshments. Contributors include Town of Newton, Newton Police Department and Center for Prevention and Counseling. Hear from others who have accessed help for addiction and what recovery supports are available in Sussex County.
    This event is going to be focused on sharing our stories to help others and how talking about recovery offers hope whether you are a person still struggling or a family member or friend of someone who currently uses or is in recovery. There is help out there and our community can learn how to be part of the solution! We hope you join us!
