Business and professional training programs offered

NEWTON — Skylands Professional Training, a partnership of Sussex County Community College (SCCC) and Warren County Community College (WCCC) is offering Business and Professional Training programs during the upcoming Fall 2017 semester. Help advance your career or start a new one with one of these programs:
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – All students must have a valid driver’s license and a physical is required. All training will take place in Dover, NJ. Admissions is on a rolling basis.
• Customer Service Training - You never get a second chance to make a first impression when you communicate — whether in-person, on the phone, or in writing- – with customers. Topics include: components of communication, active listening skills, questioning techniques, telephone etiquette, professionalism and more. Offered October 10, 11 and 13.
• Fiber Optics Training – Two courses are being offered for Fiber Optics. A three-day introductory course designed for anyone interested in becoming a Certified Fiber Optic Technician on October 16-18 and two-day (16-hour) advanced program designed to offer specialist fiber optic training to individuals involved in the testing and maintenance of fiber optic networks on October 19 and October 20.
• ServSafe® Manager Certification – A two-day certification course that will provide training to enhance the knowledge of current and prospective foodservice managers in the principles of food sanitation and safety including the Hazard Analysis Critical Point system. The course is offered September 19 & 20 with a registration deadline of September 6 and October 26 and November 2 with a registration deadline of October 19.
• Small Business Entrepreneurial Training - Several courses are being offered to assist small businesses with training.
o Establishing Web Presence for Your Business: October 17 and October 19
o Building Your Holistic or Earth-Centered Business: October 25
o Time Management to Increase Productivity: November 2
