County college holds Ladies Saturday Retreat

NEWTON — What better way to spend a Saturday than with a day devoted to pampering, relaxing and socializing.
Ladies will receive a much-needed relaxing day out at Sussex County Community College (SCCC) with this year's Ladies’ Saturday Retreat (LSR) set for Saturday April 7. LSR is the perfect day for mothers, daughters, sisters, friends and girls, too! This event has become an annual tradition at SCCC every April and this year is no different.
The all-day event features a pleasant mix of indulging, socializing, and unique workshops. The theme focuses on "Activate, Motivate and Rejuvenate. LSR begins with a bagels, coffee, and registration at 9 a.m. and culminates with a post-dinner comedy show at 8 p.m., offering a full-range of activities throughout the day. From shopping to spa favorites to picking up some healthy habits, this popular annual event also makes for a perfect mother-daughter bonding experience or a girlfriends’ mini-getaway. The day’s events include:
• Workshops covering an array of motivational, informational, and recreational topics, including Creating a Stress Free Life, Re-Loving Furniture, Salsa, Aging with Grace, Yoga and more.
• Relaxation in the Oasis Room with complimentary mini spa treatments, which may include massages, makeup makeovers, and facials.
• A Café Reception lunch features specialties from numerous local eateries.
• The vendor showcase is an easy way to support locally-owned businesses. Shop for some new jewelry, makeup, crafts, and other fun knick-knacks all in one convenient location. Exhibitors will also include representatives from county services and organizations available to women.
• Dinner Reception
Upon the completion of afternoon workshops, the over-18 attendees are invited to an evening of entertainment with the “One Funny Mother – I’m Not Crazy” comedian, Dena Blizzard. Blizzard presents a truthful look at the daily life of woman everywhere. Her comedy show is an assortment of wife wisdom and motherhood humor. She has been seen on numerous television shows and is a hit on You Tube!
Two levels of tickets for the LSR are available. General admission includes breakfast, access to shopping, pampering sessions, workshops, and lunch with adult tickets for $60 and girls 12-18, $40. All-inclusive ticket also includes the dinner and comedy show. Tickets cost $85 and are available to adults 18 and over. Groups of 10 or more will receive $10 off each All-Inclusive ticket.
