SPARTA — Creating more ways to entertain the community and utilize its lakefront location, Lake Mohawk Country Club held it’s first Spring Craft and Vendor Fair on Sunday, May 6.
The rain or shine event, which was definitely under a threat of rain based on the ominous sky, was staged in various rooms throughout the Club with the majority of local vendors and artisans in the main ballroom.
Marketing Manager Susan Egan said that after a long winter, the event presented by the LMCC House Committee, was a way to welcome the new season in with food, fun and family events.
In addition to children's activities, over 18 vendors representing art, jewelry, signs, soaps, hair accessories were on display, plus there was food to eat, spirits to drink and pets to adopt by local organization OSCAR.
“We are hoping this becomes an annual event-we are excited about the turnout and the representation from local vendors,” said Christine Repka-Davis, Chair of the LMCC House Committee. “It’s a great turnout from the community."
Desmond Castello attended with his wife Mila and son Alexsander –in total the family purchased popcorn, an inspirational artisan plaque while eying a Lake Mohawk onesie for a baby on the way.
“We live a block away so this is great to have here, and there are many things to look at,” said Desmond Castello.
And although there was no sunshine, there was something for everyone and Spring was definitely in the air.
"Lake Mohawk Country Club is the center of our town, and we look forward to a great season for everyone,” said General Manager John Stanley. “It is great to see so many local businesses represented here at the market."
