Easter sunrise service on the Boardwalk

SPARTA — The Sparta Ecumenical Council (SEC) is holding an Easter Sunrise Service on the Boardwalk (weather permitting- or in the Lake Mohawk Country Club in case of rain) on Sunday April 1, 2018 beginning at 7 am.
A program of the service will be distributed on arrival. and a short hospitality period will be held in the LMCC immediately after the service.
SEC is composed of many churches in Sparta —-the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Sparta Methodist Church, Our Lady of the Lake and Saint Kateri Catholic Churches, Newton Hospital Center-Pastoral Care, Institute for Spiritual Development-Sparta, and St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
This service has been held for several years. and this year’s collection will be provided to the SEC food pantry, which is hosted at the Presbyterian Church. A thrift shop is also hosted by St. Mary's Methodist Church. Blood drives and a migrant ministry are hosted by Saint Kateri. Other services such as an annual Sparta HS baccaluarelate service and other services are held on a rotation basis. For more information, consult the church bulletins or contact the church offices.
