SPARTA — To honor the Sparta High School Football team's two-time Championship, a celebration was held on Saturday, Jan. 3 with New York Giants Punter Steve Weatherford making an apperance. The celebration was sponsored by Franklin Sussex Auto Mall and hosted by Mohawk House.

Weatherford came from his home in Hoboken to speak to the boys about their accomplishments and what life is like in the NFL both on and off the field.

"We are big supporters of Sparta High School Football and the entire community," Bill Snouffer, GM at Nielsen Auto Group who sponsored the event, said. "We have been sponsoring events like these for five years and feel it brings everyone together to celebrate the community."

Frank Marchiano, SHS Football Head Coach said it is nice to reflect on the season and sit and enjoy the day with a great group of guys one more time.

When asked how he feels about losing 17 seniors he said, “good seniors turn into good freshman” and they will all be greatly missed.
