Fundraiser to help People Help

— Enjoy an Oktoberfest evening and help a local 501c3 non-profit organization replenish its coffers at the same time. People Help of Sparta, whose mission is “providing emergency assistance to Sussex County residents in need” is extremely low on funds. They need funds going into the winter months when people often have to go without heat or electricity due to some catastrophe in their lives.
Sunset Vista Community Garden of Andover Twp and Ballroom Magic of Vernon have teamed up, along with Mary Jo Mathias, retired Executive Director Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council to hold an Oktoberfest fundraiser, with People Help receiving 100% of the ticket donations. Thorlabs of Newton has generously provided the funds to cover the food and other expenses, Sunset Vista is providing the venue at no charge, and Ballroom Magic’s Katy Fischer will be donating her time to teach dance on the deck, prepare the food and provide the music and sound system, all very professional. It’s Sussex County people helping each other. Won’t you be part of this?
The evening promises to add up to your enjoyment of the beautiful view of the farm, the mountains, the vineyard and the evening sky from the dance deck. And don’t forget the smorgasbord of hearty German style food. Send your financial help and/or ticket donations of $30 per person, or $55 per duo that attends, to People Help, P.O. Box 202, Sparta NJ 07871. Call Gail Swain at 973-729-1745 for more details. The event is Saturday, Oct 7 from 5-8 pm at 27 Pierce Rd in Andover Twp.
