Newton — The Kittatinny school year began with a generous donation of twenty backpacks containing school supplies from Connect for Community. This organization utilizes various means to reach their goals such as coupons, local farmers donating surplus produce, and even hairstylist donating their time to give haircuts.
Connect for Community has many programs, but in 2013 while running their 100th Day of School program, the group became aware of a need for school supplies for students. They started with about 500 bags and this year they assembled over 1,800 backpacks for students in Sussex, Morris, Warren and Bergen county schools.
The Cougar family of the Kittatinny Regional School District welcomes the much needed supplies and appreciates all the hard work Connect for Community has done for our area.
