J. Thomas heading to new location

SPARTA — J. Thomas Jewelers has been a permanent fixture in Sparta for the past 30 years. Soon, it will be moving to a brand new home down the road.

Presently located at 270 Sparta Avenue, J.Thomas will move in April to a larger space at the newly constructed The Shoppes at Lake Mohawk at 245 Sparta Avenue.

Owners Leonard and Elizabeth Girardo have been thinking about expanding J.Thomas for the past few years and see this new retail center as the perfect opportunity,

“Although we have had great success where we are, we look forward to building a new store with better shopping area, new and more showcases with an expanded inventory. Every year has been better than the year before. We attribute this to our service, special orders, good employees and very loyal customers,” said owner Leonard Girardo.

In the custom designed 2000-square-foot location, J.Thomas will showcase its sophisticated selection of sterling silver jewelry; Fossil, Michele and Bulova watches; Italian jewelry collections Mattioli and Garavelli as well as its own custom design pieces and Diamond Essentials line. And customers can continue to get jewelry repairs as well as sell their gold which is still in demand in the marketplace.

“Our inventory is fashion forward, and that’s what we bring to Sparta. Today jewelry changes and by attending the top jewelry shows in Las Vegas, Switzerland and Hong Kong, we can learn the trends and reinterpret them and offer it to our customers,” he said.

J. Thomas also will continue to being part of the community in Sparta by its ongoing contributions to local school and organizations like Ginny’s House, the Junior Women’s Club and Operation Smile.

“I am looking forward to this — our home base in Sparta of loyal customers allows us to take the next exciting step. We want to thank all of them for their continued support.”

A celebration of the upcoming move is being held at the present location with a moving sale with savings of up to 60 percent.
