Jeena Joy Morelli took top honors individually and with her team this year at the True Talent and Imagine regional dance competitions in the areas of hip hop, contemporary and musical theater.

She’s been super-active, taking dance at two different studios five days a week, and becoming certified as a ballroom instructor. All the while, she has maintained her A average at Sparta High School, where she is a member of the Class of 2021.

Jeena has been a student at Trinity Studios in Sparta and a member of their Competition Dance Company. Prior to joining Trinity, she was a student at Dance Dimensions by Michelle, where she studied jazz, ballet, and musical theater.

Her passion for performance led her to the ballroom dance world in August 2019. During the pandemic, she continued taking online classes from both Trinity Studios and Arthur Murray. Because of her commitment and hard work, she became an instructor for the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Denville in March while at the same time preparing for competition with her teammates at Trinity.

Jeena served as the senior captain of the Trinity Studios Competition Troupe and is a mentor to younger dance students.

After graduating from Sparta, Jeena will be attending Montclair State University, where she will major in broadcast journalism and, of course, continue to pursue her love for dance.
