— Lawline, the pre-eminent national on-line continuing legal education provider, retained local Attorney Maryjean Ellis to create a new course — “Drug Addiction and Alcoholism (‘DAA’) Cases in Social Security Disability and SSI: Law and Practice Tips for Helping an Underserved Population” — for its curriculum. Ellis presented the program to a national audience of attorneys via live webcast on October 10, from Lawline’s Studio in lower Manhattan. Ellis’s presentation, which is now available for on-demand viewing at Lawline.com, provides attorneys with the tools to help reduce the estimated 60% of individuals with substance use disorders who are eligible to collect Social Security Disability, but never apply.
Ellis is an attorney in Newton whose practice is limited to Social Security Disability/SSI and NJ Workers’ Compensation claims. She is a sustaining member of National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR), and a member of the Sussex County Bar Association and the NJ Bar Association.
