Martial Arts Hall of Fame Welcomes New Member from Sparta

Sparta resident David Mastrogiovanni has been inducted into the NJ Mixed Martial Arts Hall of Fame for his contribution as a promoter to the sport. Mastrogiovanni has helped to promote local talent where many have gone on to fight and become world champions in the UFC. Current title holder and one of the most skilled athletes in the UFC, John Jones fought under his promotion. Later a deal was made with Mastrogiovanni to sign Jones over to the UFC. Most events were held in Atlantic City's Tropicana hotel and resort. Events quickly received high regards from the MMA media. Later events were televised and showcased on several websites and in many publications. Congratulations to the this year's Hall of Fame inductees.
