Miller Brothers host family barbecue

– Miller Brothers MMA & Fitness are hosting their third annual family BBQ on Saturday, July 29, open to all local families.
The event will be preceded by a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar featuring numerous Black Belt instructors, which is also free to attend, with a donate-what-you-can request for a fundraising drive for the Global Lyme Alliance.
The BBQ begins at 2 PM and guests are invited to come out and enjoy the fresh barbecue and home-cooked sides while also partaking in a selection of yard games and getting to know other local families! Festivities are scheduled to run until 6 PM – though prior years have seen the action continue until sundown.
For local martial artists looking to start the party early the Miller Brothers, UFC veterans Dan and Jim, will be the hosts of a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar which features both Gi and No-Gi training beginning at 11 AM. The seminar will run for two hours with instruction from all of the gym’s four Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts, and will be followed by a promotion ceremony for some of Miller Brothers MMA’s hard-working students. Showers are provided on-premises for students who wish to remain for the BBQ following the seminar.
All funds donated at the event will be contributed to Angel Miller’s fundraising drive as she participates in a half marathon on September 17 to raise funds for the Global Lyme Alliance (GLA). The GLA is a charity which is searching for a cure and reliable test for Lyme disease. Jim Miller nearly had his UFC career ended when he mistook his symptoms for the wear and tear of a long UFC career, and has had a resurgence after beginning treatment including victories on the historic UFC 200 and UFC 205: Madison Square Garden fight cards. If you wish to contribute to the GLA but can not attend the seminar, you can donate to the drive directly at <URL destination="http://fundraise.globallymealliance.org/fundraiser/1017506 ">fundraise.globallymealliance.org/fundraiser/1017506
