Murder mystery dinner at Mohawk House

SPARTA — Whodunnit. In 1932. At a mythical speakeasy in Sparta.
“Death at the Perky Papoose,” is an original murder mystery dinner theater production, set at the tail end of the Prohibition Era, and being performed twice this weekend at the Mohawk House in Sparta.
The play, written by local attorney and published author Lauren D. Fraser, focuses on a club owner who has managed to give a number of people a reason to off him. Someone, of course, does, and dinner guests get to try to figure out who.
Dinner and show take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 14 and Sunday Oct. 15. Price of admission is $85, with $50 of that being tax-deductible, as proceeds are going to benefit the 200 Club of Sussex County.
“We are changing the murderer from Saturday’s show to Sunday’s, so no one can spoil the mystery,” Fraser said.
She is an attorney with Fraser Cerra LLC of Sparta. She is also the author of the Trinity of Kirana, a successful Young Adult fantasy series.
“The play has many Sparta references,” she said.
The 200 Club of Sussex County is a charitable, non-profit organization comprised entirely of dedicated volunteers. The Club's primary mission is to provide immediate financial assistance to the families of first responders who lose their lives in the line of duty.
