The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey announced the addition of two doctors to its medical staff. Dr. Ben Salari and Dr. Jason Wu are the newest members of the 17-physician practice.

Dr. Ben Salari
Dr. Salari is a dual fellowship trained orthopedic spine surgeon. He received his undergraduate degree from Stevens Institute of Technology in chemical biology, a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Columbia University, and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Salari has extensive training in spine surgery with the completion of two fellowship programs. He is a graduate of both the University of California, San Diego Spine Fellowship and the Maryland Spinal Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Programs.

Dr. Salari shared his medical approach and philosophy, “After thoroughly evaluating the spine, my goal is to provide the optimal treatment course in hopes of providing the best long term outcomes. I have a strict non-operative philosophy, reserving surgery only when additional improvement is possible.”

Dr. Salari has broad experience in adult spine reconstruction for deformity, scoliosis, degeneration, and tumors. His expertise includes non-operative and operative management of herniated disks, neck pain, back pain, spinal stenosis, cervical myelopathy, and traumatic spine conditions. Dr. Salari is not only known for his clinical and surgical skills involving the spine, but his commitment to patients. He exhausts all non-operative treatments to address pathology of the spine prior to considering possible surgical options.

Dr. Jason Wu
Dr. Jason Wu is a fellowship trained rheumatologist. Dr. Wu attended Rutgers University as an undergraduate and was recognized as a George H. Cook Honors Scholar. He then continued his education receiving his Master’s Degree in clinical nutrition and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, receiving numerous honors during his studies. Dr. Wu completed his internal medicine residency at Winthrop University Hospital. He then stayed on to receive his Rheumatology Fellowship from Winthrop University Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in rheumatology.

Dr. Wu is a recognized Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. His professional affiliations include membership in The American College of Rheumatology, The American College of Physicians, and The American Osteopathic Association.
