Pass It Along hosts Family Volunteer Day

    — Pass It Along will host Family Volunteer Day at the Sparta Evangelical Free Church on Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This is a day of service demonstrating the power of families who volunteer together in support of their communities and allows every member of the family to come together and give back.
Families will have the opportunity to decorate placemats, create Thanksgiving cards, centerpieces, gifts for children in the hospital and cookie making and much more. Families may also adopt a family in need and provide a frozen turkey along with all of the non-perishable food items to make a complete Thanksgiving meal.
Family Volunteer Day was started 24-years-ago by Points of Light, an affiliate partner of Pass It Along, as a way to kick-off the holiday season. It also signals the start of National Family Week, sponsored by the Alliance for Children and Families and the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
“This event allows the entire family to give back together, from young children to grandparents,” said Kathy Rathbone, Director of Annual Events. “It is rare that everyone can come together to volunteer with activities available for all ages, but Family Volunteer Day allows us to bring families together.”
Families can also bring in their gently used coats for the Pass It Along Note In A Coat campaign. To get more information and register please go to <URL destination="http://passitalong.org/fvd. ">passitalong.org/fvd.
