Pass it Along names new president

Sparta — Pass It Along today announced the appointment of Kurt Walton as president and CEO, effective January 1, 2018. Walton will succeed current president and founder Diane Taylor. Taylor will assume the role of chairperson of the Board of Directors, and current board chairman, Dale Thatcher, will assume the role of lead board director.
“Kurt is an unbelievable addition to Pass It Along. His experience, leadership talent and enthusiasm will take Pass It Along to the next level and continue the wonderful growth we started here 16 years ago,” Taylor said. “I couldn’t be more pleased to find a person of Kurt’s character and talent to partner with to help further the mission of Pass It Along.”
Walton recently retired after a 31-year career as an educator in Sussex County. Most recently he served as vice principal at Newton High School in Newton, N.J. Over the course of his career he has served as principal, athletic director and as history teacher. Walton holds a B.A Degree from Hobart College and Masters Degrees from New Jersey City University and the University of Albany, SUNY.
“I am very excited to join the Pass It Along team and during my years at Newton High School, I was always a huge supporter of Pass It Along,” said Walton. “I got to see first-hand the significant difference they were able to make with the students, and I’ve always felt a keen desire to join Pass It Along after my high school administration career. Now is my chance to join this amazing team and help make a difference across Northern New Jersey.”
