Pope John grads advance in ROTC training

Fort Bragg, NC and Fort Knox, KY — Pope John XXIII High School 2014 graduates Frank Cutrone and AJ Arajuo completed advanced leadership training as part of their college Army ROTC requirements. Cutrone a senior with the Fordham University ROTC battalion in New York, and Arajuo a senior with the Villanova ROTC in Philadelphia, both completed rigorous training sessions at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The Army “advanced camp” program is an intensive 4 weeks of training at Fort Knox which includes classroom, field, and physical leadership components. The two cadets then traveled to Fort Bragg to complete another 3 weeks of advanced strategic training at the North Carolina base. Cutrone is a native of Byram and is majoring in international political economy with a dual minor in foreign language at Fordham. Arajuo is a native of Vernon and is majoring in political science and foreign language at Villanova. Both cadets will graduate in May of 2018 as 2nd Lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
