Registration for full-day preschool ends March 1

The Sparta Township School District recently was awarded funding enabling the expansion of preschool for 3- and 4-year-old children.

The funds allow the district to increase the number of students in a full-day preschool program at no cost to parents.

Students already are enrolled in the preschool program are guaranteed a spot next year. Any child not enrolled will be entered into a lottery system because of the limited number of seats available.

Any child not selected in the lottery will remain on a waiting list for future openings.

Key dates:

• March 1: Preschool registration ends.

• March 15: Families will be notified of the lottery results.

• March 22: Families must notify the district if they accept or decline a spot.
