SCCC course offers venipuncture training

    NEWTON — Healthcare professionals seeking to learn a new skill and make themselves a more viable candidate for positions requiring venipuncture training can join Skylands Professional Training at Sussex County Community College this fall for an introductory phlebotomy skills course.
    Open to healthcare professionals, such as LPNs, RNs, CNAs, CMAs, EMTs, Dialysis Technicians, nursing students, and others who require venipuncture and dermal puncture training for employment, this course introduces students to the theory and techniques of both types of phlebotomy. A simulated lab is included in the course.
    Two sections of this valuable class will be offered this fall on SCCC’s main campus in Newton. The first runs Tuesday and Thursday evening, 5-9 p.m., for two weeks, Sept. 18-27. The second runs 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Nov. 6 through Nov. 15.
