Webelos scouts from Sparta’s Cub Scout Pack 295 helped Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church prepare a meal for Trinity Lutheran Church’s soup kitchen in Dover on Sept. 25.
Dragon Den scouts Jonathan, Thomas and Erik and Den Chief Erich practiced service to others and assembly line production by helping make 10 loaves of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches which will be given away with meals at Trinity Lutheran.
The next day, Dragons Thomas, Jonathan, Anthony, Erik, Andy and Andrew, their Den Chief, and Den Leader Wayne Ring visited State Senator Steve Oroho in his Sparta office. Senator Oroho explained his duties as senator and the Scouts worked towards their Citizen badge.
Pack 295 is gearing up for its annual tent camp out in Byram in October and then a camp-in at the Philadelphia Zoo in November. Pack 295 is open to all Sparta-area boys in grades 1 through 5.
