Sean McAleer of DeckRemodelers.com interviewed by Radio Talk Show

SPARTA — Sean McAleer owner of DeckRemodelers.com, a Sparta design and build firm, was sought out as an expert by “My Fix it up Life” radio show. The show was taped with the North American Deck and Railing Association at DeckExpo held this year in Chicago, Ill.

The show topic was deck tips and money saving tips to get the outdoors ready for winter. McAleer is the owner of a deck design and build firm but is no stranger to the proper care and maintenance practices to extend the service life of your deck, having started out in deck repair and maintenance.

The discussion related to the proper care for your deck and the problems that will arise from neglect and or the overzealous use of products or equipment. McAleer noted that one needs to be aware of manufacturer specified directions for use of all products. He also pointed out that care also must be given to proper pressure settings for power washing since wood pulp will easily break down under pressure. Unfortunately as Sean has seen may times there are various permanent problems that may have been created by the application of certain products. Some problems can only be truly corrected by replacement.
