Smuda named among GWU Dean’s List achievers

WASHINGTON D.C. — Eric Smuda of Sparta was named to the Dean’s List of George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and Columbian School of Arts and Sciences. Eric has earned Dean’s List honors for the Fall 2015 semester with a GPA exceeding the university’s 3.75 Dean’s List minimum. Eric is a junior, double majoring in international affairs and political science with a minor in German language and literature.

According to Foreign Policy magazine, George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs ranks eighth in the nation. The university’s Political Science major also ranks seventh in the nation, according to U.S. News.

Eric is a 2013 graduate of Sparta High School and lifelong resident of Sparta. He has completed several internships with elected officials, a foreign embassy, leading policy think tanks and super PACs as well as holding leadership positions with several political campaigns. He intends to pursue a career in domestic or foreign policy or law.
