Sparta author announces trilogy
Valerie Munro of Sparta announces the release of her book, Journey to Nagwanis. It is the second book in a planned trilogy which began with Down the Swale (published in 2017). The fantasy adventures are for readers ages 9-12. Munro’s inspiration for the novels came from the swale which runs through her yard and from the sights and creatures which inhabit Lake Mohawk. The main character, 13-year-old Brogden, 1 foot tall. He lives with his elderly aunts in a tiny hut on the hills of Lake Wahkmo. Brogden ignores his aunts’ warnings to stay clear of the swale and is washed down to the waters of the lake during a flash flood. From there he encounters both friend and foe as he embarks on the adventure of his life. Most importantly, he comes across a creature like none he’s ever seen. Munro hopes that young readers will enjoy Brogden’s adventures in both books! Valerie Munro is a school library media specialist in Pequannock Township whose articles and short stories have appeared in magazines and academic journals. Down the Swale and Journey to Nagwanis are available on amazon.com.
