— The 42nd annual Sparta Day was rained out in May, but has been rescheduled for this Saturday, September 23. The Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta (JWCS) said the hours and location -- from 10AM to 4PM at Station Park -- remain unchanged.
“Hopefully we will all enjoy classic September sunshine this weekend,” said Kelly Lucadamo, one of the event organizers.
As had been planned for May, the free-admission event will include over 125 vendors, a food plaza, and live performances.
Families will also have the opportunity to touch-a-truck, witness a Jaws of Life demonstration and partake in mini soccer training clinics with the Sparta Soccer Club and the New York Red Bulls.
Kids play free in Kid’s Country, featuring huge inflatables, games, a photo booth and more.
Franklin Sussex Auto Mall will remain as the “Sparta Day Title Sponsor.”
The first 500 attendees will receive Sparta Day tote bags filled with valuable coupons, information and giveaways from area businesses. Visit the JWCS booth as the club commemorates its 50th anniversary this year, here you can pick up Sparta Day maps and event information.
Sparta Day is organized entirely by volunteers from the JWCS. This event could not take place without the support of Sparta Parks & Recreation and JWCS community sponsors including: Franklin Sussex Auto Mall, Culligan Water Conditioning, Harte Orthodontics, Eastern Propane, Wellness Pediatrics, The Goddard School, Stop & Shop, The Highlands Veterinary Hospital, Performance Pediatrics, Weichert Realtors, Integrity Dental, Kessler Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Joseph Lohner, Dr. Derek Noonan and Kiddie Academy.
The JWCS is comprised of women from Sparta and surrounding towns that have come together as friends to foster goodwill and provide events and activities to bring the community together. Each year the JWCS raises and distributes thousands of dollars to local and national non-profit organizations.
